Five Tips to Help Balance Your Hormones

As mamas, our hormones can be a rollercoaster 🎢 as we go through the changes of pregnancy and postpartum.

Here are 5️⃣ tips to help level things out!

💚 Eat a hefty dose of steamed cruciferous vegetables everyday. Cruciferous veggies like cauliflower, broccoli, bok choy, and Brussels sprouts help us detoxify estrogens and balance us out.

🌾 Add an intentional fiber into your diet. I like to have one serving of psyllium husk a day, but there are many ways to add more fiber in like chia seeds, oat bran, or apple pectin.

🍽️ Eat balanced meals! This means making sure you’re having a healthy fat, protein, and carbohydrate with every meal. Eating this way helps keep your blood sugar stable and promotes satiety. Make sure to limit any added sugars, processed foods, and refined oils.

☕ Cut out or reduce caffeine. I know this one is tough, but caffeine can negatively impact our adrenals which then can have a cascade on all of our other hormones. Limit yourself to one cup of coffee a day after you eat breakfast.

😴 Get good sleep. Every hour of sleep you get before midnight counts double because cortisol, our stress hormone, is regulated at midnight. Getting enough sleep keeps stress hormones balanced and allows the body to fully rest and recover.

🌸 Hormones play a huge role in our overall health and it’s important to make sure that we are in balance. Reach out to your provider if you feel you could use extra support in this area. 💪

  1. Mamas what are yall doin in place of caffeine ☕️ 🚫or to wean off caffein? I’ve been so coffee addicted after my second born before that I didn’t drink coffee much at all! After 3 kids I want to slowly cut it out. But IT IS SO HARD! I’m drinking one cup of mushroom coffee a day with low caffeine and hopefully switch to that then wean off. But I want to know what others are doing? I’ve also tried cacao which I love as it’s like hot cocoa but not sure how it affects my hormones.

  2. It was easy to replace coffee to organic tea with honey, ginger, lemon, cinnamon which balance your hormones and taste way better. Oh lets not forget vitamin D with K2 & beets with broccoli
